If the old X-Trail sat squarely in the 4x4 camp, this new model is decidedly more SUV. Nissan has rounded off its rough edges to create something akin to an XXL Qashqai.
Despite its softer styling, the new X-Trail is still capable of tackling tough terrain. But only if you go for a four-wheel-drive version.
The Japanese company is also offering a seven-seat option for the first time - along with a host of family-friendly features.
